Matthew Levine is an experienced multimedia artist and video production specialist. Working with state of the art technologies, Matthew produces vivid and stimulating imagery for various applications clearly communicating ideas and evoking emotions. With professional credits in national and international television broadcasts, museums exhibits and live events, Matthew is an expert at the production process.

Matthew has worked with major television networks such as ABC, CNBC, BET, BBC, Deutsche Welle and more, performing a wide range of broadcast production duties. He has also designed, programmed and produced a state of the art, one-of-a-kind theater that entertains thousands of people every day in one of the nations newest and most popular museums. Matthew continues to work on the cutting edge of video technology staying current on the latest systems, managing and training those who seek to further their knowledge and experience.

Technical Operations Specialist (July 2007 – Present)
The Newseum / Freedom Forum, Washington, DC NW

  • Program, maintain and design productions for the Big Screen Theater; a 100’ video wall system utilizing 5 blended HD projectors displaying the outputs of a 28-input presentation system, programmed and automated by a specific device control software package.
  • Supervise and operate the Master Control Room performing duties such as: switching video and audio throughout the Newseum, routing feeds and recalling router salvo’s, maintaining the video ingest system, monitoring inbound and outbound transmission via AVOC, zoning audio for live and recorded announcements as well as supporting the facility with multiple forms of technical troubleshooting.
  • Perform various broadcast production roles for national, international and Newseum shows.  Roles include: Technical Director, Video Engineer, Chyron Operator, Camera Operator and DV Server Operator.
  • Provide detailed training to staff on all systems within the Master Control Room. Created a comprehensive knowledge base and administered an operators test for staff to utilize and challenge their abilities. 
  • Support Newseum staff with standard help desk needs including email, formatting and network issues amongst many other typical desktop support duties.  Also organized and managed the successful relocation of all user stations to the new facility.

Video Field Technician/Graphic Artist / Video Editor  (January 2005 – June 2007)

  • Fulfilled various roles on numerous live event productions such as: Lead Video Engineer, Projectionist, LED Wall Technician, Camera Operator, Camera Shader, CG Operator, Tape Op, Rigger and Lighting Director.
  • Maintained and quality controlled A/V production equipment including projectors and screens, tape decks, cameras and tripods, switch packs, LED displays, lighting boards and fixtures.
